The Balanced Body ® Movement Principles™ & Pilates Essentials form the foundation of Balanced Body® Education. This course is a prerequisite for ALL Instructor Training Modules. They include the most important information on anatomy, assessment, biomechanics and foundational exercises needed to become a successful Pilates teacher, personal trainer or movement educator. The course provides information on how the body works, and basic exercises to illustrate this information in movement. The five categories of Movement Principles™ are: 1) Whole Body Movement 2) Trunk Integration 3) Lower Body Training 4) Upper Body Training and 5) Mobility and Restoration. This course will give you a tool box for effectively training clients to recover from injuries, improve general fitness and enhance performance. The focus on practical understanding of common movement patterns prepares instructors to be excellent at problem solving, goal setting and learning new exercise techniques with ease. 16CECs NPCP

Anatomy is the foundation of our work as Pilates Instructors and movement professionals. The deeper your understanding of how the body works, the better equipped you are to teach your clients optimal movement strategies. This Course presents an introduction to the major tissues, joints and muscles of human movement. Muscle origin, insertion and action are covered along with movement experiences to help you understand and remember not just the individual muscles, but how they work in synergy to create functional movements. Includes manual and video support. Satisfies anatomy requirement for ALL Balanced Body® Instructor Training Certifications. Taught online by Kerry Siman-Tov, a Physical Therapist and Balanced Body® Master Instructor. 16 CECs for NPCP

Mat 1: The foundation of the Pilates method. This course includes an introduction to the history and principles of the Pilates method and the beginning and intermediate level exercises. 16CECs
Mat 2: Intermediate and advanced level exercises as well as essential movement principles and training tips for advancing clients to the higher levels. Pilates for sports specific activities are also covered. 16 CECs
Mat 3: Enhanced Pilates Mat completes the mat training by adding rings, rollers, bands and balls to the traditional Mat exercises. In addition, Enhanced Mat includes functional exercises for the upper and lower body expanding the Mat work beyond the core to develop whole body strength and flexibility. Perfect also for certified Mat Instructors who want to add variety and challenge to their mat repertoire. 16 CECs
Reformer 1: This course introduces the Reformer, the center piece of the Pilates equipment studio and an invaluable training tool. Reformer 1 includes an introduction to safely using the Pilates Reformer for a wide variety of supine, seated and standing exercises for the beginning to intermediate student. Movement Principles include improving lower body alignment, creating balanced muscle development and learning a protocol for effectively training the upper body. 16 CECs Must have a Reformer to participate online (Zoom)
Reformer 2: Intermediate exercises and modifications designed for group and individual instruction. Teaching successful classes and sessions to clients at different levels of ability is emphasized. Included are a variety of programs designed to keep your clients inspired. 16 CECs Must have a Reformer to participate online (Zoom)
Reformer 3: The pinnacle of the Reformer work and includes advanced and super advanced exercises to challenge clients to achieve their best. Reformer 3 includes advanced exercises plus modifications for sports specific activities, tips for training the advanced client and key exercises for advancing a client. 16 CECs
Balanced Body Trapeze Table/Cadillac/Tower Instructor Training:
The Balanced Body Trapeze Table/Cadillac/Tower training provides a thorough introduction to Trapeze Table and Tower exercises as well as applications for beginning, post-rehabilitation and advanced clients. This training is appropriate for students working with the Allegro® or Allegro 2 Tower of Power®, Half Trapeze and Wall Tower as well as those working with full Trapeze Tables. Sequencing programs using multiple pieces of equipment are covered as well as equipment set up, safety and maintenance. 18 CECs
Balanced Body Pilates Chair Module:
Perfect for working with athletic clients, and as an addition to group programming in combination with the Mat. Includes exercises and variations for the original Wunda chair, the EXO chair and the split pedal or Combo Chair. This course includes exercises and programming for both personal training sessions and classes. 14 CECs
Balanced Body Pilates Barrels Instructor Training:
Includes exercises and variations for the Step and Ladder Barrel, both are excellent tools for enhancing spinal mobility and core strength. The Ladder Barrel is most commonly used in a studio setting while the Step Barrel is a great addition to group classes. 6 CECs
Balanced Body® is now offering Physical Therapists, PTAs and all Rehabilitation Professionals the opportunity to learn how the Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table, Chair, CoreAlign® and MOTR® can be implemented in the clinical setting. With a variety of 4 hour introductory workshops and 8 hour fundamental courses there are many learning opportunities. Courses are offered LIVE, In Person and ONLINE to allow clinicians anywhere in the world to participate. Online participation must be live, NO recordings made available for offline viewing. Discounts available for purchasing of Pilates equipment for participants in these courses. FPTA approved for Florida licensed PT/PTAs. Many other states have reciprocity. Learn about the musculoskeletal system by building with clay on the model skeleton. 16CECs for PMA, ACE, NASM and AFAA. Satisfies Anatomy requirement for Mat, Reformer and Comprehensive certifications. Taught online only. Students are required to have skeleton manikin and clay to participate. Local students may borrow manikins from studio. No access to skeleton and clay? This anatomy course also satisfies the 16 hour ANATOMY requirement for all Balanced Body® certification programs. This course integrates anatomy and movement.
